Broward County Misdemeanor Diversion Program (MDP)
The Office of the State Attorney for the 17th Judicial Circuit in Florida (Broward County) offers some defendants accused of committing a misdemeanor its Misdemeanor Diversion Program (MDP). The program affords first time offenders an opportunity to immediately accept responsibility for their action and divert their cases from the criminal court system. MDP. is administered and supervised by Broward Sheriff’s Office Probation. Eligibility requirements and approval for entry into MDP will be determined at arraignment.
