Will a DUI conviction affect my car insurance rates in Florida?

People charged with DUI offenses are often worried about what’s going to happen to their insurance rates. Your insurance rates are going to go up for a considerable period of time. But the other way a DUI affects insurance is that you’re going to need to get something called an FR44. An FR stands for Financial Resources. You’re going to get a certificate from your insurance company and it’s going to be given to the DMV saying you have a certain minimum type of coverage that Florida requires you to have after being convicted of a DUI. If you stop paying your insurance, your insurance company is going to notify the DMV and the DMV is going to suspend your license immediately.

If you or a loved one is facing a DUI charge, please don’t hesitate to give me a call at 954-270-0769.
